Book One: Drawings (2004-2006)

Book One is a collection of about 25 drawings that are studies in visual composition. These drawings can also be performed as graphic scores with parameters. The drawings are influenced by musical works as well as visual work. As as result they continue to influence my musical compositions.

Book Two: Melodic (2005-2007)

Book Two is a collection of about 25 compositions. They range from single melodic lines to notated compositions for 3 or 4 instruments and electronics. My Clarinet Trio mostly performs compositions from this group.

Recent Works (2007 - )

My compositional energies have recently moved into other areas besides Books One and Two. My focus continually moves towards new electronic compositions. I have a solo electronics project called Kalle. I also perform in a duo electronics group with composer David Jensenius. I also write new sketches and pieces for my collaboration with Anne Rhodes. My piece for 2 bullhorns was premiered in December 2007.

I have started the new year with the premiere of a new composition for 2 guitars, bass clarinet, and electronics entitled "Trio (static)". This is an extended notated and improvised structure. I look forward to many more performances of this piece. I am now working on a (mostly) notated extended piece (~45 minutes) for 3 clarinets (1 bass), 2 percussionists, and electronics which hopefully will be premiered sometime in late 2008.

I am also in the early stages of a collaboration with playwright/musician Stephen Ptacek. The resulting piece will be written for 3 instrumentalists, 3 vocalists, and electronics.

House/Home

House/Home is a piece for 8 musicians, 2 video recorders, and 186 Cross St in Middletown, CT. It is a site-specific piece, but new compositions with a similar concept can be written for other spaces. The musicians and video recorders move throughout the space of the house as defined in the composition. (more info and documentation soon)
